 International Widow's Day: Make Edo Gov't Proud.

The Chairman, Esan Central Local Government, ECLG, area, Rt Hon Kelvin Ainiyalenhimi Iyere, has urged the widows in edo central Senatorial district, to make Edo state government proud by making judicious use of the gift items shared to them in commemoration of this year's International Widow's Day.

The Chairman said this in an address he delivered today, Monday 23rd June 2025, at the occasion of the presentation of gift items to widows in Edo central Senatorial district, an event that held at the local government council secretariat hall in Irrua.


Describing Edo state governor as  "our action governor", the Local Government boss, thanked governor Monday Okpebholo for initiating the project of the distribution of the gift items to the widows and also placing it as a high premium in his administrative policy.


Continuing, Rt. Hon. Iyere said; "...I want to urge all beneficiaries from this items to use it judiciously and make the state government proud by not abusing this opportunity, all in a bid to make government do more in future".


"As we are about to start the presentation of the gift items, i urge all beneficiaries to remain calm".


The Chairman directed those responsible for the distribution of the gift items to ensure transparency and due process in the distribution of the items, and concuded by saying; "...the initiatives and efforts of our governor, must be felt by everyone, irrespective of age, gender or social status".


Items distributed to the widows, include, Grinding Machines, Coolers, Plastic Tables and chairs suitable for market women, and others.


Present at the event, are Hon. Paul Uhomesili, Chairmen, Esan North East Local Government, ECLG, area, Hon. Henshaw Elimihele, Chairman, Igueben local government area and Hon. Moses Edo, Chairman, Esan South East Local Government Area. Others include, Hon. Deacon Davies Oigbochie, the Secretary to Esan Central Local Government Area, Hon. Sylvester Edokpeawe, the Special Adviser to Esan Central the Local Government and Mr. Earnest Erebholo, the Head of Service to Esan Central Council.
