Welo, gets Legendary Media Personality Award of the year 2024.

On Thursday, 27th December 2024, the Publisher, Esan Magazine and the Correspondence Newspaper, Mr. Peter Odianosen Iwelomen, popularly known as Welo, was presented with a Leadership and Development Award as a Legendary Media Personality of the year 2024.
The award of honour on Iwelomen according to the project coordinator, Sunny Duke Okosun is “An initiative aimed at recognizing and celebrating exceptional leaders and organizations for their community impact” adding that, it is targeted at “Emerging leaders from various sectors, including business, government, non-profit organizations and education.”
Continuing, Mr. Sunny Duke Okosun stated that Iwelomen is being honoured to recognise and reward him for his outstanding leadership and to serve as an example in the promotion of a culture of excellence in leadership development and practices, Okosun also noted that the award will serve as an opportunity to re-orientate the youths on the right values and virtues as demonstrated by Mr. Iwelomen and other awardees.
Responding, Mr. Iwelomen who was visibly elated, thanked the organizers of the event for finding him worthy of the award, saying, awards of such nature, will go a long way in encouraging the recipients to do more.
In an exclusive chat with Esan Magazine, Mr. Iwelomen, who said; "...this award is a further proof to me that, people are watching and talking note of every of your activities.
" I am indeed extremely grateful to the organisers for finding me worthy to receive this award."
The Deputy Chief of Staff to Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Pius Alile, who is the Chairman of the occasion, thanked Sunny Duke Okosun for his hard work and dedication to duty which according to him fueled the recognition of the awardees and their contributions to the development of their communities.
Alile also eulogised Iwelomen for his contributions to societal development over the years with the publication of Esan Magazine and The Correspondent Newspapers.
Mr. Peter Odianosen Iwelomen, is the publisher, and Editor in Chief of Esan Magazine and the Correspondence Newspaper titles. Esan Magazine has been in circulation for over three decades now. Mr. Peter Iwelomen is also the pioneer Chairman of community newspaper publishers in Nigeria, he is also the pioneer President of Esan Youth Movement, EYM.
