I Have What it Takes to Transform Edo state

The foremost Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial aspirant for the 2024 Governorship election, and the most outstanding of all the aspirants irrespective of the different political parties, Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, OFR, has emphasized the need for the state to get it right this time, as we prepare for the 2014 Edo governorship election, saying, he has what it takes to transform Edo state.
Ambassador Uhomoibhi laid this emphasis on Wednesday, 28th December 2023, while speaking with a team of Journalists, after meeting with Edo central Traditional rulers at the Palace of the Onojie of Ewatto.
Uhomoibhi, who said; '...our flawed Political leadership selection process, has often given room to the mercantilist Politicians to emerge and be at the saddle of power, after which they rip-off the people's commonwealth, adviced the political business men to look elsewhere, adding that, '...the political future of Edo state, is not for sale...'
In same vein, he advised the cash and carry electorates to have a rethink, as Edo state can only get better if they shun the political business men and their money.
Continuing, Uhomoibhi said; '... poverty has been so weaponised that, in most cases, the electorates are left with no choice other than to collect peanuts from the mercantilist Politicians in exchange for their votes...'
'...if we continue to recycle the same story, what do you expect to happen? We must change the narrative, we must take our destinies in our hands and we must ensure that the best aspirants become the governor...'
Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, OFR, the first African to be elected the President of the United Nations Human Right Council, UNHRC, who was also at the same time the President of the World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO, and the outstanding aspirant for the 2024 Edo gubernatorial election, said; '...Edo state has what it takes to become the a first class society, and I believe I have what it takes to transform Edo state, hence I am contesting for the position of the governor of Edo state...'
Earlier, Ambassador Professor Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi had received royal blessings from the Enigie of Esanland after he informed them of his intention to contest for the Governorship position in 2024.
It will be recalled that the PDP primaries has been scheduled to take place in February 2024.
