Deacon Patrick Akhimiemona Idiake, the All Progressive Congress, APC, Candidate contesting to represent Esan Central/Esan west/Igueben Federal Constituency, in the upcoming election, has called on Esan people not to give listening ears to all those that connived with Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state, to shut down the College of Education, Igueben and also working towards eroding the prestige and glory of Ambrose Alli University, AAU, Ekpoma.

Speaking in Ekpoma, on Friday, the 10th of February 2023, to a mammoth crowd of critical stakeholders that described themselves as a 'Church', Deacon Idiake who apologised to the people of Esanland for erroneously supporting Obaseki to emerge as the governor of Edo state, said; '...just like many of us, I never knew Obaseki will turn against Esan land that gave him overwhelming support to emerge as the governor of Edo state... I want to use this opportunity to apologise to all the staff and students of the College of Education, Igueben as well as all the staff and students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and the entire people of Esanland for this error, which in due course, will be reversed...'

Continuing, Deacon Idiake said; '...if we continue to allow these people to get away with all the wrongs they are commiting in Esanland, we will forever live to regret it...Let us save AAU from the hands of of these valians, and the only way we can do this, is to massively vote against them in the upcoming elections...' the time, is now, he said.

Deacon Idiake who lamented the astronomical reduction by Obaseki of the subvention to AAU, from over 200 million naira, to about 40 million naira, urged the people of Esanland to massively vote for Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidential candidate who has shown empathy with the people of Edo state, and is also interested in changing the 'sorry' story of Edo state for the better.

Responding, one of the high profile stakeholders in the gathering, who prefer to remain anonymous, said; '... We have very serious problems on our hands as far as Ambrose Alli University is concerned, and that problem is huge. We will not open our eyes and look on as income of people are stopped, untold hardships unleashed on innocent students and parents and the legacy of Professor Ambrose Alli is  destroyed, it will never happen'. He said.
