The foremost aspirant for Edo 2024 gubernatorial election, Ambassador Martin Ihoeghian Uhomoibhi, in a chat with a team of Journalists in Benin recently, revealed that Edo state has the potential to engage its youths, women and men in productive ventures that will change the narrative, hence the fortune of Edo state for the better, saying; ‘it is unacceptable that as rich and blessed as Nigeria is, we are tagged the poverty capital of the world,…it is time for our narrative to change, and Edo will lead in the change of narrative. We will be a model that other states in the country will emulate.’
Continuing, the Edo 2024 gubernatorial aspirant, who said, all he has achieved in life, were not chosen by him, as they are divine manifestations, added that, as far as he is concerned his aspiration to govern Edo state, is a journey to make Edo state the the envy of other states in Nigeria. He said; ‘…my bid for Edo governorship, is not about me, but about the people of Edo state, about our enterprising and intelligent youths, the hard working men and women that are the engine room for the development of our dear state. They are ever ready to change the narrative, but only need the enabling environment to thrive.’ That enabling environment, Ambassador Uhomoibhi said, will come as strategies are already in place to actualize it.
Asked why he has been silent, and not media disposed all these years, in spite of all his national and global antecedents, Ambassador Uhomoibhi said, those that ‘puff up’, do so to make up for their pathological inadequacies, as vessels that are loaded, makes no noise.
Ambassador Uhomoibhi who said, he is an historian, who have lived Nigerian History, taught Nigerian History and defended Nigerian History, concluded by saying, it is time for him to apply his experience in turning things around for the better, saying; '...our desired change for the better as a country, will begin from Edo state'.
